Taunggy Represent is a rich visual and cultural portrait of Shan State, the mountainous and diverse heart of northern Myanmar. Named after the state’s capital, the book offers a window into the photographer U Aung San’s intimate engagement with the region’s complex cultural tapestry. We  get aglimpse of a place where Shan, Chinese, Indian, Nepalese, Mon, and Thai influences intermingle, and where Theravada and Mahayana Buddhism, Hinduism, Christianity, and indigenous beliefs coexist.
